Risk Disclosure

Read this before you subscribe.

Futures trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. The signals Aurum publishes are educational research output. They are not personal investment advice. You are responsible for any trade you place based on them.

What can go wrong

You can lose more than you invested. Futures contracts use leverage. A small adverse price move on a leveraged position can wipe out margin and produce a loss exceeding the cash in the account, after which the broker may call for additional funds.

Past performance does not guarantee future results. The backtest numbers on this site (PF 1.73, max drawdown 17.9R, 12 of 12 positive quarters) describe historical behavior of a rule-based strategy on May 2022 to May 2025 CME data. Live performance can differ. The strategy can stop working. The live track record is the only ongoing measure that matters.

The strategy is not appropriate for every account size. Aurum signals assume the subscriber sizes positions so a single losing trade costs a small percentage of equity (typically 1 to 2 percent). On accounts too small to size that way using standard futures contracts (GC, SI), the appropriate vehicle is micro futures (MGC, SIL). Trading full-size GC or SI from an undercapitalized account is the fastest path to losses.

Signal delivery can fail. Email, webhook, or dashboard delivery may be delayed by network issues, broker outages, or our own infrastructure failures. Aurum is not responsible for missed signals or signals acted on outside the time window they were intended for.

Execution slippage is real. The entry, stop, and target prices in each signal are the strategy's intended levels. Your actual fills may differ depending on broker, market liquidity, and order type. Slippage on stops in fast markets can exceed the stated risk.

What Aurum is not

Aurum is not a broker. We do not hold customer funds, place trades, or execute orders. You maintain your own brokerage account and decide whether and how to act on each signal.

Aurum is not registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) with the U.S. National Futures Association (NFA) or the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Signals are published as general market commentary and educational research, not as personalized futures advice. U.S. residents seeking regulated futures advice should consult a registered CTA.

Aurum is not a financial planner or fiduciary. We do not know your account size, risk tolerance, financial goals, or tax situation. The signals are the same for every subscriber on a given tier. If you need advice tailored to your situation, consult a licensed professional.

Suitability

Futures trading is suitable for individuals who: understand that they can lose more than they put in, have risk capital they can afford to lose entirely, have read the standard futures risk disclosure (CFTC Form 1.55 or the equivalent in their jurisdiction), and have an active futures account with a regulated broker.

It is not suitable for retirees relying on the account for living expenses, individuals using borrowed funds, or anyone who has not previously traded leveraged products.

Backtest limitations

The backtest results published on this site are based on historical bar data and assume perfect execution at the strategy's intended entry, stop, and target prices. The backtest does not model:

  • Commission and exchange fees
  • Slippage between intended and actual fills
  • Bid-ask spread on entries and exits
  • Execution latency between signal and order placement
  • Broker outages or rejected orders

Real-world performance will be lower than backtest performance by some amount. The size of that gap depends on broker, account size, and execution discipline. The live track record on the stats page incorporates all real costs; the backtest does not.
